System/390 Parallel Enterprise Servers are general purpose CMOS based technology
processors. This CMOS technology allows for the high density packaging of components in a
much smaller space, this has major benefits for the customer:-
- Manufacturing costs for CMOS are cheaper.
- CMOS requires much less power, thus saving on environmental costs.
- Because of the high density of CMOS packaging what used to take up the whole room now
has a much more compact footprint.
- The cost of maintenance is greatly reduced.
